Abstract

Intoduction: Pregnancy is a physiological process, therefore it is considered important for pregnant women to have their pregnancy monitored with integrated antenatal services. Triple elimination examination is one of the minimal benchmarks for integrated prenatal care. The triple elimination examination is performed by extracting blood, which can be stressful for patients. Rose aromatherapy is a non-pharmacological method that can provide a feeling of relaxation to patients. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of rose aromatherapy on pregnant women's anxiety during the triple elimination. Metohds: This study was conducted at UPTD Puskesmas Marga I from November to December 2023, utilizing a pre-experimental research design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. Non- probability sampling in the form of accidental sampling was used as the sample technique. Anxiety was measured using the HARS (Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale) sheet, then data analysis was carried out using the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test. Result: According to the findings of a study of 30 pregnant women, the average anxiety level before the intervention was 54.04, whereas the average anxiety level after the intervention was 26.50. The Wilcoxon test yielded a p-value (p-value = 0.000, = 0.05), so H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted, indicating that there was an effect of rose aromatherapy on pregnant women's anxiety during the triple elimination blood collection process at UPTD Marga I Public Health Centre. Suggestion: From the results of this study it is hoped that the administration of a combination of rose aromatherapy and hypnotherapy can be used as material for consideration in providing midwifery care to pregnant women, especially those who will carry out blood tests.
