Abstract
Intoduction: Adolescence is a transition period marked by physical, emotional and psychological changes. One of the disorders that most often occurs during menstruation is dysmenorrhea. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of the small group discussion class method on young women's knowledge about dysmenorrhoea at SMP Negeri 1 Kuta
Metohds: This research is a quantitative research, quasi-experimental design using a one group pretest posttest design. The population in this study were all young women in class VII of SMP Negeri 1 Kuta who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, with a sample size of 20 people. The sampling technique was purposive sampling and data analysis was carried out using the Wilcoxon sign rank test. The instrument in this research used a questionnaire.
Suggestion: The research results show that the level of knowledge of young women before the small group discussion method was carried out was (65%), after being given the small group discussion method it became (75%). There is an influence of the small group discussion class method on young women's knowledge about dysmenorrhea with a value (p-value 0.001 < 0.05). It is hoped that this research can increase teenagers' knowledge about dysmenorrhea.
